The Center for Extreme Events Research (CEER, http://www.jacobsschool.ucsd.edu/ceer/) has launched at the University of California, San Diego, with the mission to develop better ways to protect infrastructures as well as bio systems from extreme events such as blasts from terrorist attacks, mining explosions, car crashes, sports collisions and natural disasters such as landslides and earthquakes.
The purpose of this kickoff meeting is to introduce CEER's unique experimental and computational capabilities, discuss formats for collaboration and partnership with industries and government agencies, and identify challenges, opportunities, as well as future research directions.
Please join us for this kickoff meeting to learn more about CEER and to meet with center faculty, affiliated researchers, engineers and managers from DOD/DOE labs and industries, as well as prospective collaborators.
