Director of Mission System Engineering

Jim is the Director of Mission System Engineering within Lockheed Martin MSTs Undersea Systems. In this role, he is responsible for approximately 500 system engineering and integration & test engineers at four Lockheed Martin sites. Prior to moving into this role, he was the chief engineer for Undersea Systems C4 market segment consisting of a portfolio of programs including national command & control, air defense, communications, ruggedized workstations, and positive train control. With 30 years in the corporation, Jim has also worked at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in airborne reconnaissance, including the venerable U-2 reconnaissance aircraft. Earlier in his career, Jim worked on the F-117, space station, and satellite programs. He has a BA in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego and a MS in System Architecture and Engineering from the University of Southern California. He resides in San Diego and enjoys running, music (especially piano), and cooking.
