Peter Simpson is a leading expert in Medical Device development and glucose sensing technologies. He is currently the Senior Director of R&D at Dexcom where he leads the development of advanced technology and next generation products. Mr. Simpson developed Dexcoms first transcutaneous continuous glucose monitoring sensor, the Dexcom STS, the Seven Plus and contributed to the G4 Platinum development. He also led the development of Dexcoms intravenous hospital based continuous glucose sensor in collaboration with Edwards Lifesciences.
Mr. Simpson received both his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Applied and Engineering Physics from Cornell University. He has over 16 years of experience developing analytical instrumentation and 14 years developing Continuous Glucose Monitoring Technology at Dexcom. Mr. Simpson has published numerous articles and holds 75 U.S. patents and over 150 pending patents in continuous glucose monitoring and analytical instrumentation.
