VP Software Engineering
Gary has been developing software for 34 years, starting with the development of a bulletin board system on a TRS-80 Model IV computer in the old days of modems and floppy drives; yes, he feels old when it's phrased that way. After earning his Bachelors in Computer Science at the University of South Florida, he worked at IBM, developing the first SCSI based RAID subsystem for the RS/6000 product line, and at Dell Computers, helping launch their Enterprise Business Division's first Storage Area Network. Later, he left the corporate world to be involved with several startups, including StorageApps, which was bought by HP for $350 million. Currently, Gary is a Vice President of Engineering at Sony, exploring new product areas such as the Internet of Things, as well as leading the development of several Xperia android and Play Memories web applications.
