1. Intelligent Asset Tracking through RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
Corporate Quality in Cisco is looking for a three person team to research the technology, analyze methods and approaches, and recommend alternatives and solutions based on business benefits, cost analysis, feasibility, and scalability. This project requires technical and business innovation. The assignment will include assessing existing solutions, designing and implementing programs to optimize existing methods, as well as presenting recommendations on new approaches based on research and analysis of the feasibility and scalability of RFID implementations. Ideally, the team will be comprised of 2 CS/CEs or EEs with programming skills, knowledge of data bases, tooling and SW design and one MBA with strong communication (both written and verbal) and business analysis skills. Networking knowledge, RFID, hardware engineering and strong excel programming knowledge are desirable. Seniors and grad students are preferred. US citizenship or permanent residence required. Job location is San Jose.

2. Building a prototype to integrate Video with Java-based IVR and Contact Center applications (UCCX) - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
As more and more phones and end devices are becoming video enabled today it is of strategic interest to incorporate video into our Java based UCCX product. Contact center agents will be able to see the customer or show prerecorded videos. For example in a support center environment, the engineer would want to stream a video to the customer describing how to resolve a certain problem. Cisco today has many video capable devices such as gateways or other applications such as CVP 4.5 and we are looking for new innovative ways to integrate these products. Cisco is seeking a team of 3 interns with a computer science background to work on this project. Job location is San Jose.

3. Unified Communications Applications - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
The team of UC San Diego students assigned to the IPCBU applications team would be utilized to further our Unified Communications Applications thrust. This effort is focused on developing a variety of Unified Communication (UC) applications that leverage our evolving IP Phone portfolio, showcasing the new software and hardware features being introduced in this product line. Working along side both the business and development organizations, the students would work with the team to identify, evaluate business value, scope the development effort, and develop the UC Applications that show business potential and that showcase our portfolios new capabilities and advanced feature set. The resulting applications will be utilized in our Executive and Customer Briefing Centers, Tradeshow booths, and by our business team in customer engagements. Additionally, some of the applications may be packaged with our IP Phone products themselves or as part the Software Development Kits (SDK) for our Developer Partners to leverage within their value added applications.

Specifically, we envision a team of 4 - 6 interns with a mix of software engineering (Java MidP and Web 2.0 experience), project management, and business background to work as a team on this project. Job location is San Jose.

Gen-Probe Gen-Probe
Our products help professionals test for a wide range of micro-organisms that cause a range of human diseases including tuberculosis, strep throat, pneumonia and sexually transmitted diseases, as well as for human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) contamination of the blood supply. We continue to develop innovative new solutions based on our patented core technologies.
1. Characterize and refine the design of components of a molecular diagnostic instrument - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
The project will be to characterize and refine the design of various components and modules of molecular diagnostic instruments that can include: modules to control temperature, modules to dispense liquids, modules to sense liquids, modules to mix, and modules to capture magnetic beads. The project will involve characterization of module performance in the lab using a variety of tools and test equipment, data analysis and presentation, design of test fixtures, and design of electro mechanical assemblies.

Three team members will be required with the following majors: One electrical engineer with an interest in sensing and analog circuits, two mechanical or bio engineers, all students should have an interest in automated instruments. Seniors or graduate students are OK for all positions.

Desirable skills: data collection and analysis; presentation; electro mechanical components; analysis of thermal systems; analog circuit design.

1. GUI (graphical user interface) for anchor design software - International Project - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
The task is to develop a new Graphical User Interface (GUI) for Hilti's anchor design software. This GUI should utilize established IT industry technologies to communicate the software functionally in a simple and intuitive way to design professionals in the construction industry. The team will develop a non-functional prototype and then conduct costumer usability tests in the United States. Based on the findings of the usability tests, the GUI will be revised. The team will work with a Hilti project manager and interact with Hilti-internal, as well as Hilti-external personnel. Project requires one (1) structural engineering student (preferably with practical design experience), one (1) IT student with focus on software ergonomics/usability/GUI design and one (1) IT student with strong GUI programming skills. Senior or graduate students are preferred. Required skills: basic understanding of construction/design practice, knowledge of work science (human-computer interaction), graphical design capabilities, programming skills. The team will spend part of the internship period in Schaan, Liechtenstein (100 km East of Zurich, Switzerland), and part in the US (San Diego, CA and/or Tulsa, OK).

2. Electrical Plug System for Underground Mining Applications - International Project - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
The task is to define a design concept for an electrical plug system feasible for handheld electrical equipment in underground mining applications. This new plug system will expand the level of utilization compared to an existing Hilti system solution. The first step is to attain in-depth technological understanding of the available plug systems on the market, with focus on the US and Canada, with regard to application range, flexibility, approval requirements and handling. In the next step different concepts should be identified and evaluated by the utilization and testing of functional samples. Basic requirements are an easy handling of the plug connection without a tool, robustness in a mining environment and sufficient explosion protection for American and other ATEX mining markets. The project requires two (2) mechanical engineers with solid experience in design, material science, CAD and functional analysis, as well as one (1) electrical engineer, who brings knowledge in energy supply, three phase current and manufacturing technologies. Senior or graduate students are preferred. The internship will be located in Kaufering/Germany (30 mi. west of Munich).

To ensure that the entire wireless industry is inspired and continues to evolve, innovate and experience success, QUALCOMM develops its technologies and solutions for the purpose of enabling key participants in the wireless value chain.
1. Qualcomm Mobile Device UI Software Internship - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
This internship, under the direction of the Qualcomm mobile device UI software team, will offer the opportunity to work on next generation mobile UI technologies and enhanced graphics capabilities. Examples include but are not necessarily limited to the following areas: 3D User Interfaces, Inertial Sensors, Touch-screen User Interface, Web Services and Applications.

Ideal candidates are detailed and technical programmers with good communication skills. Must be able to learn a complicated embedded UI environment and translate this into clean well implemented code. Experience with high level languages such as C/C++, script and/or mark-up languages essential. Share responsibilities and communicate technical knowledge within a dynamic team environment.

Prefer students majoring in Computer Science - BS or MS. Course work should include Computer Architecture, Programming Languages (especially C/C++, High Level languages, and other scripting and/or mark-up languages), Operating Systems, Algorithms, and Computer Networks and/or Web Technologies.

2. Developing Real Time tools for Evaluating Video Quality in MediaFLO - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
Qualcomm MediaFLO Technology SIT team is looking for three interested students to work on developing and evaluating real time objective tools for establishing video quality. With MediaFLO becoming commercial it is essential that we have a tool that immediately recognizes insufficient video quality, and alarm the operators. Two video tools are under consideration: VQM and SSIM. The students will first calibrate and evaluate the performance of the two against subjective video test for all type of content. Also the students will develop tools to compare DVB-h and MFLO quality. After that they will develop the GUI which will contain not only video quality scores, but also values of features that are responsible for the video quality score. The tool will have ability to generate alarms for insufficient quality, recording of corresponding logs, as well as the video clip at the time of problem occurrence. The team should be comprised of three students with computer and electrical engineering majors. Seniors or first year graduate students preferred. Skills required: knowledge of wireless communications important, good computer language scripting skills and some video processing desired.

3. Performance, capacity, and competitive analysis: wired peripheral interfaces - Location: Haifa, Israel - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
The project deals with the study and enhancements of various data streams over USB and SD/SDIO interfaces of the mobile phone / cellular modem. The Team will identify the relevant parameters and then devise a strategy to measure them. Competitive analysis will be included as well. The Team will deal directly with various bus analyzers and will need to come up with creative methods to identify the bottlenecks and the drawbacks of the existing solutions. The interns will learn the messaging schemes for different protocols and help to improve the HW/SW partition to make sure that Qualcomm's solutions continue to be the "best in Class" solution. The Team will learn the theory of streaming data over different physical interfaces, how to read standards, how to work with various test equipment and also how to prepare engineering reports. This internship is very diverse in its nature. 2-3 broad-minded EE undergraduate students with understanding and desire to explore in the areas of: Performance Analysis, Software/Systems, SW drivers, wired protocols, Audio/Video data streaming, performance characterization in the wired domain, analytical and hands-on software/system characterization are required. Some SD/SDIO/USB protocol theory or hands-on experience would be beneficial. Knowledge in Audio/Video/IP traffic and data flow would also be a plus. Project Location: Haifa, Israel.

4. Digital Design and Verification for peripheral sub-system - Project Location: Haifa, Israel - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
This internship is about working with the digital design team that develops next-generation wired-peripheral interfaces to Qualcomm chips. The work will include digital design and verification tasks. More details will be added shortly. Internship position is open for 2-3 EE undergraduates with logic design background. Project Location is Haifa, Israel.

5. Universal Broadcast (Mobile TV) Module Performance Tools - Project Location: Haifa, Israel - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
The System Engineering Team is involved in taking existing test tools and new tools related to UBM (Universal Broadcast Modem) and turning them into production tools that can be used by the testing teams, field teams, handset OEM's and test equipment vendors. The tools include analysis of the logs to extract physical layer related behavior, performance and parameters. The intern/engineer will be exposed to the development methodology and learn to deliver functional and functionally tested software. The intern/engineer will also be exposed to software architecture development that is "designed for change" and learn how to adapt software to evolving requirements. Internship position is open for 1-2 EE interns with communication background familiar with Matlab. Project Location is Haifa, Israel.

6. Universal Broadcast (Mobile TV) Module Performance Optimization - Project Location: Haifa, Israel - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
The System Engineering Team is involved in development of UBM (Universal Broadcast Modem) and tuning them into state of the art products. Some of the emended algorithms require tuning and optimization in order to achieve the expected performance. The engineer will be exposed to the development methodology and learn to deliver functional and functionally tested simulation and software. The engineer will also be exposed to simulation architecture development that is "designed for change" and learn how to adapt simulation to evolving requirements. Internship position is for an EE M.Sc. student with communication background and familiarity with Matlab. Project Location is Haifa, Israel.

7. QCM Data Networking - Project Location: Haifa, Israel - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
The development team for Data Networking support in the QCM (Qualcomm Component Model) layer in the phone SW stack is engaged in the re-architecture of Data Networking API for QCM cellular applications in the areas of Sockets API, Data Network Management (Data calls initiation, Network configuration, etc.), HTTP API, DNS requests, Quality Of Service and more. This includes Definition of APIs for existing and new Data Networking features, Win32 simulation, Backward compatibility layer to support BREW applications, development and execution of QCM applications (both on a reference cellular phone and Win32 phone simulation environments) for testing of the new QCM APIs and more. The intern shall be exposed to the QCM infrastructure and the Data Networking module in the cellular environment. Internship position is open for 2 Computer Science undergraduates. Location is Haifa, Israel.

SDG&E - A Sempra Energy Utility SDG&E - A Sempra Energy Utility
SDG&E is a regulated public utility that provides service to 3.4 million consumers through 1.4 million electric meters and more than 840,000 natural gas meters in San Diego and southern Orange counties. The company has built a strong foundation in Smart Grid technologies, including a Smart Meter deployment that will be completed in 2011, self-healing grid technology, automated sub-station condition-based maintenance, advanced outage and distribution management systems, and microgrid projects funded by DOE and CEC. SDG&E was ranked number one in the nation in the first annual 2009 Smart Grid rankings published by IDC Energy Insights and Intelligent Utility magazine.
1. CarConnect - Vehicle to Grid (V2G) Business Opportunity - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
Over the next few years, SDG&E will replace every mechanical electric meter with a digital meter and communication infrastructure. The project is called Smart Meter, and refers to a network of automated gas and electric meters and/or modules connected to communications equipment. Smart Metering allows for two-way communication between the utility and the customer premises. There is a technical potential and economic impact of using the existing idle capacity of the U.S. electric power infrastructure in conjunction with the emerging plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) technology to meet the majority of the daily energy needs of the U.S.

This project focuses on a conceptual design to integrate PHEV into the Smart Meter system. Areas of investigation in this project will include: Means of measuring PHEV charging from and discharging to the grid; Battery discharging must be governed by user preference; Identify candidate vehicle manufacturer(s); Smart Meter must recognize the vehicle (vehicle identification); Battery charging may be deferred to low-cost energy prices (off-peak); Conceptual design must use the Smart Meter Home Area Network; Leverage other SDG&E intellectual properties (last year's Intern project).

Deliverables will include technology assessment (technology viability, device design, and manufacturer acceptance), market assessment (market opportunity, customer preferences, subsidy requirements), and financial assessment (financial projections, capital requirements, operating costs).

SDG&E is seeking 4 students, junior and seniors preferred: 1 Automation/control engineer; 1 Computer Science (firmware) engineer; 1 Electrical Engineer (micro power emphasis); 1 MBA (emphasis in marketing and finance).

1. New Product Introduction (NPI) Concept Evaluation Tool - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
The Team Interns will be collaborating with and expanding upon the work of a Solar graduate team from UC San Diego's Architecture-based Enterprise Systems Engineering (AESE) program.

The primary objective of this project is to develop a working prototype of a tool that is used to evaluate new turbine engine concepts that Solar should invest in. The tool needs to be able to look up or accept input and possibly integrate models across multiple functional domains (Engineering, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance) and then the tool will provide recommendations based on defined parameters and statistical analysis.

Recommended skills are: Software development/Systems Engineering experience, Web platforms, Relational Databases, OO design/development, Service Orientation. Specific experience with .Net/SQL Server and Web Services is desired.

A mix of 3-4 students, Freshman to Graduate, from the computer science and engineering disciplines, and at least one business student is desired.

2. Efficient presentation of complex vibration data via the Web - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
The primary objective of this project is to develop efficient methods of presenting complex vibration data utilizing Web-based HMI screens. Vibration information is useful in determining the health of turbo-machinery. The challenge is to efficiently present graphical information that is generated from large amounts of data over the web to a full spectrum of client devices from fixed displays, remote desktops to mobile phones and PDA devices. The project will be a blend of analysis and implementation, including hands-on development work using OO principles and current industry standard processes for software development. Required Skills include knowledge of object oriented development, C++ or C# , JavaScript, HTML, XML, strong team skills, strong communication skills, and web client development experience. Desired skills include familiarity with Ajax web development, Adobe Flash development, distributed controls systems and gas turbines. A team of 3 students is desired, Freshman to Graduate, from the computer science and engineering disciplines.

3. Evaluation of methodologies to be employed under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
Under the UNFCCC Kyoto Protocol, developed (Annex 1) countries have a commitment to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 5% below 1990 levels by 2012. One way these reductions can be achieved is by investing in GHG emissions reduction projects in developing (non-Annex 1) countries to obtain Certified Emissions Reductions (CERs), which an Annex 1 country can use towards its GHG emissions reduction commitment to the UN. Such projects must be executed according to a methodology submitted to and approved by the UN CDM Executive Board. There are currently 126 approved methodologies of which 29 have potential to employ Solar's products. 22 additional methodolgies are under consideration for approval. The primary objective of this project is to evaluate approved CDM methodologies to determine which of Solar's products are best suited to deployment under each methodology. For each methodology under which Solar's products might be advantageously employed, the following need to be produced:

(1)Quantitative estimate of the potential GHG emissions reductions (annual tons CO2 equivalent) for the Solar products that best fit the methodology; (2)List of critical criteria which a project must exhibit for Solar's products to fit the methodology; (3)Geographical analysis of where in the world such projects would likely be found; (4)Changes to the methodology that might improve applicability of Solar's products; (5)Some type of communication (white paper, PowerPoint presentation, etc) for the sales force and external project developers that will enable them to identify GHG emissions reduction projects with the best potential to employ Solar's products.

Recommended skills: Engineering education, ability to conduct a quantitative analysis, ability to understand and analyze complex mathematical equations, strong written communication skills.

The ideal team is made of 3-4 students, freshman to graduate level, from engineering, math and/or environmental science departments.

ViaSat ViaSat
ViaSat produces advanced digital wireless communications and signal processing products for military and commercial markets. The company focuses on innovation and bringing the value of advanced technology to its customers. Our technology development and products all involve digital communications and cover specialties such as satellite communications, tactical communications, network security, and communication simulation and training.
ViaSat will implement a company-wide knowledge database to search, publish, and organize data within the company. Interns will work with the AESE team to develop an initial prototype of the knowledge database system. This may include development of a user interface, back-end data repository search capabilities, using either COTS or internally-developed software, and connecting disparate systems via an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). ViaSat is seeking three CSE students: one Database Engineer with expertise in IT/System Administration, Linux and Databases/Data Mining; one User Interface/Portal Engineer with expertise in Graphical User Interfaces, Usability Analysis, and Web portal design (and associated programming languages), and one Middleware Engineer with expertise in XML-based Software Development, Databases/Data Mining and Scripting.

2. Tactical ESB implementation Part 2 - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
Expand and enhance the 2007 TIP proof-of-concept system to allow transmission of Link-16 SA information over disparate communication systems and displays. An open source Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) connected MIDS-LVT and UHF radios; and projected information on C2PC, Google Earth/Maps, and Falcon View displays. The enhancement would be to add trusted services to the ESB based on the WS-Security standard used to secure Web Services. The trusted services could include one or more of the following security services: authentication, access control, encryption/decryption using policy enforcement and decision points. ViaSat is seeking two Software Developers with expertise in C/C++, JAVA, Service Oriented Architectures (desired), experience writing WEB applications (desired) or experience with embedded software (desired); and one Software Developer/Equipment Integrator with expertise in C/C++ and with a basic understanding of wired and wireless networks and good trouble shooting skills and experience integrating HW/SW. Seniors preferred. Must be US Citizens.

3. Automated Metrics Collection System - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
ViaSat is implementing an automated metrics collection system. The system will mine, store and publish development metrics. Interns will work with the Metrics Working Group (MetWG) to design and implement a scalable metrics collection system. The system will mine metrics data from existing repositories that contain (at a minimum) requirements, problem reports, code, and effort data. The interns will gain experience in requirements, design and implementation for user interface development, back-end data repository search capabilities, and report generation. ViaSat is seeking one Database Engineer with expertise in IT/System Administration, Linux and Databases/Data Mining; one User Interface/Portal Engineer with expertise in Graphical User Interfaces (GUI), Usability Analysis and Web Portal Design and associated programming languages; and one Middleware Engineer with expertise in Software development, Databases/Data Mining and Scripting. Must be US Citizens.

4. Crypto Sub-System Demonstrator - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
To modify an existing, classified Crypto Sub System (CSS) demo to display system capabilities and the ability to support multiple single levels of security (MSLS) in an un-classified environment. The Team would use existing cryptographic hardware developed by the Network Systems Group. The Team would add a graphical interface to these tools to make them easier to understand for the non-technical observer. Need to connect standard UDP/IP (voice and video over IP) devices to send network traffic through the CSS demo. Develop an Adobe Flash (or equivalent)-based graphical demo that would be synchronized with the technical demo on the hardware and test tools to give a simplified and graphical view of what is occurring. Finally, create a very simple key loader. All the support equipment needs to be selected and packaged to travel. The overall design of the demo needs to enable simple set up and tear down. It also needs to be robust so minimal time will be needed to debug upon setup. Experienced SW and HW engineers will support the Team. ViaSat is seeking 4 Computer and Software Engineering students for the following roles and with the following skills: 1. Role: Develop the graphical interface to existing test tools: Skills: Python or other scripting experience (Perl/TK, TCL/TK, etc.); IP Networking (UDP); GUI development; 2. Role: Develop a key load simulator and/or UDP to CSS PDU pack/un-packer; Skills: C & C++, Python or other scripting experience (Perl/TK, TCL/TK, etc.); IP Networking (UDP) ; Serial protocols; 3. Role: Develop the overview animation demonstrating what the hardware is doing; Skills: Adobe Flash or other animation software; Python or other scripting experience (Perl/TK, TCL/TK, etc.); AJAX (Java Script, XML); 4. Role: Make the demo animation to be interactive and show the real time data flow and status of the HW; Skills: Adobe Flash or other animation software; Python or other scripting experience (Perl/TK, TCL/TK, etc.); AJAX (Java Script, XML); In addition, ViaSat is seeking 1 EE to build up the demo hardware into a robust and shippable system (Verilog or VHDL on Xilinx skills desired). 5. Terrestrial Augmentation of Satellite Network - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
The purpose is to develop a platform which is capable of communicating simultaneously over commercial broadband satellite and terrestrial channels. Specifically we want to augment a SurfBeam modem with a DSL modem and routing capability to be able to route traffic over either path. ViaSat is seeking 3-4 EE, CE or ME students with the following roles and skill sets: 1. Role: select a dsl platform (eval board) and determine how to connect it to the SurfBeam board; skills: Digital Hardware Design and integration; Digital communications interfaces (Ethernet, PCI, DSL); Embedded Software; 2. Role: Implement a very simple routing function to send traffic both ways; skills: Embedded SW; Network Protocols; 3. ResMed's Applied Research department invites a three person team to interface a variety of monitoring and therapy devices, the goal of the system being improved monitoring of the blood pressure effects of sleep-disordered breathing. The system elements will include a non-invasive blood pressure monitor, pulse oximeter, respiratory flow sensor, and a ResMed therapy device. The system is broadly based on a published configuration, but with key differences. The system is to be developed and validated to a level appropriate for clinical research. Time permitting; the scope of the project may extend to marketing elements, such as analyzing the needs of patients, clinicians, regulators, etc. This analysis may assess potential for applications for home monitoring, and the appropriate system configuration for such applications. The How Much Information? Program is part of the Global Information Industry Center at the Graduate School of International Relations & Pacific Studies at UC San Diego.
What is the rate of new information production each year? Who produces the greatest amounts of information annually? Individuals? Enterprises? Public organizations? And how does growth in North America compare with information growth in other geographies, markets, and people globally?

To answer these questions and others, a new How Much Information? (HMI) research program is underway. An updated and expanded study of information growth, conducted by a multi-disciplinary, multi-university team supported by corporate and foundation sponsorship, will complete an update of the 2003 Berkeley report by the end of the year. The 2008 report will be the first in a three-year research program, sponsored by seven companies, AT&T, Cisco, IBM, LSI, Oracle, Seagate and the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), and spanning three research universities, UC San Diego, MIT and UC Berkeley.

The HMI Lab will focus on building four reference data sets for analysis and visualization of data classification, data storage, data processing, network flow, and database applications. Test data sets will be requested from HMI? sponsors. The Lab will also conduct its own experiments to generate test data.

2. Development and Update of Architectural and Physical Diagrams for a C4ISR System of Systems Design - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
A System of Systems is a collection of task-oriented or dedicated systems that pool their resources and capabilities together to obtain a new, more complex, 'system' which offers increased functionality and performance than simply the sum of the constituent systems. The team is expected to continue to the development of the existing physical design of a modern Command, Control, Computers, Communications, and Information (C4I) and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) system of systems. This development entails the identification of equipment locations physically within a platform or site, identifying how each piece of equipment is connected to every other piece of equipment, and relating the physical information to program-defined part numbers and configuration items. Due to the complexity of the design, the team will investigate new ways to extract needed information from the design database in various reports required by the program engineers. In addition, the team will explore different ways of representing the system architecture using standard Department of Defense (DoD) Architecture Framework (DoDAF) views that can then be related to the existing physical design. The ultimate goal will be to develop a means of linking high level system requirements stored within one database to design elements developed and stored within a separate design database, allowing for the complete traceability of requirements to all levels of design. Desired end results and deliverables are:

1. Complete physical drawings for each platform and site on the program including: site layouts, equipment layouts, equipment cabinet configurations, physical interfaces between each piece of equipment including connector and cabling detail, and equipment identified by configuration number and part number. All drawings should be capable of being extracted from the NetViz design tool in standard formats acceptable for inclusion in documentation and presentation materials.
