EXECUTIVE SHORT-COURSE TO FOCUS ON SYSTEMS ENGINEERING FOR THE ENTERPRISE

Registrations are now being accepted for an executive-level short course on Architecture-Based Systems Engineering for the Enterprise.  The professional education program, offered jointly by the UCSD School of Management and Jacobs School of Engineering, will be held January 27-30 on the UCSD Campus.

The goal of the course, which was developed at the request of Jacobs School corporate partners, is to help companies respond rapidly and effectively to changes in the global marketplace by providing a conceptual framework and the latest information technology tools for business integration and enterprise-wide knowledge management.

According to faculty director Hal Sorenson: "The explosion in information technology has transformed 'knowledge' into an invaluable corporate asset.  The management of information sources and technologies, through disciplined systems engineering, has emerged as a major challenge for enterprises and their future well-being."

Sorenson has assembled a stellar faculty from the MITRE corporation, leading business schools, and the U.S. Air Force to provide participants with  a strategic overview of leading-edge thinking on:

Knowledge as a Corporate Asset;
Enterprise Systems Engineering for Decision Support;
Architectures for Enterprise Information Systems;
