Gojoya Announces Investment From Intel Capital

San Diego, Calif., Mar. 8, 2019 -- Gojoya, Inc., a startup company built on technology developed by Professor Joseph Ford’s group at the University of California San Diego, announced today that it has received an investment from Intel Capital, the strategic investment arm of the semiconductor giant Intel.

Silicon Valley-based Gojoya is developing next generation imaging systems with built-in artificial intelligence (AI) for multiple markets including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), robots, autonomous driving, and mobile phones. Gojoya has secured exclusive license rights from UC San Diego, according to Professor Ford, who is co-founder and CTO of Gojoya.

“We are excited with the investment from Intel Capital. This is the first strategic investment for Gojoya, and we are looking forward to working with Intel to bring Gojoya to the next stage,” said co-founder and CEO, Dr. Yan Sun. “We see Gojoya’s innovative imaging systems in commercial drones, 360-degree virtual reality, and many other applications.”

Gojoya will use the investment funds to hire engineering talent, develop product, and conduct business activities. The company was founded in 2018 and has been working on developing its imaging platform.
