Eight New Companies Join Corporate Affilitates Program

Eight companies joined the Jacobs School Corporate Affiliates Program (CAP) in FY04, bringing the total membership to nearly 50 companies. CAP's newest member is ErisTech, Inc., a San Diego-based defense company founded by Jacobs School alumni Dan Alspach ('70) and Shayan Alam ('04). CAP is the primary means by which the Jacobs School cultivates relationships with industry. CAP staff broker introductions to faculty and set up research partnerships; provide tailored services to help companies increase visibility among Jacobs School students and successfully search for qualified employees; and give members a voice in engineering skills needed for the future through forums such as executive board meetings and focus groups with the dean of engineering. To learn more about CAP, call Anne O'Donnell at (858) 822-5963 or visit www.jacobsschool.ucsd.edu/CAP.
