UC San Diego recently hosted a three week training program for working professionals and Ph.D. students aimed at covering nuclear nonproliferation and other important issues in U.S. nuclear strategy and policy.

The annual “Public Policy and Nuclear Threats” program is run by the University of California Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation (IGCC) and covers important issues in U.S. nuclear strategy and policy, supported by an understanding of the scientific foundations of this policy.

“Our multidisciplinary and interactive approach bridges science and public policy, which is an increasingly important endeavor,” says Susan Shirk, Director of the IGCC and a political science professor at UC San Diego.
