Tau Beta Pi - Nation's Best Chapter

UCSD's Tau Beta Pi Chapter Nation's Best

UCSD's chapter of the engineering honor society Tau Beta Pi won the Most Outstanding Chapter Award for the 2006-07 year. Nationally, there are 232 chapters. The UCSD group initiated 94 new members and held 70 events, including everything from a local beach cleanup to participation in the Sally Ride Festival, an event that exposes 5th to 8th grade girls to careers in science and engineering.

Some events focused on professional development. All were fun. For example, for a small donation UCSD students threw whipped cream-filled pie tins at Tau Beta Pi members as a part of E-Games 2007. What's in store for E-Games 2008? Novel engineering multiplied by the Tau Beta Pi fun factor.
