Research Expo

in conjunction with NAE regional meeting

The annual Jacobs School Research Expo features research posters by 250+ M.S. and Ph.D. engineering students, technical breakouts led by Jacobs School faculty, and a reception where guests can interact with faculty and students who share their research interests. The theme of this year's event is "Renewables and America's Energy Future" with a keynote address by Larry Papay, CEO of PQR and co-author of the National Research Council report America's Energy Future (2009). The Jacobs School has the privilege of hosting the regional meeting of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) in conjunction with Research Expo 2010.

Share your Triton experience and life after UCSD by hosting a dinner (at home or a venue of your choice) for up to 10 undergraduate students. This is a great way to give back and impart valuable wisdom to the next generation of UCSD alumni.

Albert Yu-Min Lin, '04, M.S. '06, Ph.D. '08, is looking for the tomb of Genghis Khan. Lin and his team of engineers, geologists, historians and archaeologists will use satellite imaging, ground-penetrating radar and other non-invasive imaging techniques to search for the lost tomb. It is no wonder that this spring, he was named the world's top adventurer by the readers of National Geographic Adventure magazine. Come hear him talk about his adventures, and view his work on Calit2's HIPerSpace wall.
