Ring Ceremony 2020

When: Saturday, June 13th
Ceremony: 3:00PM-4:30PM

Event will be streamed through the Jacobs School of Engineering website, featuring live and pre-recorded content.

 

Graduating undergraduate students of the Jacobs School of Engineering are invited to attend the Ring Ceremony. At this virtual event, graduating engineers will recite the graduation oath to express their commitment to upholding standards of ethics, integrity, and quality as practicing engineers and as graduates of the Jacobs School of Engineering. Participants will receive a ring prior to the event to be worn as a symbol of this commitment. The ring is a plain stainless steel silver band engraved on the inside with UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering. The virtual ceremony will include recognition awards, a keynote speaker, the Jacobs School graduation oath, and the presentation of the rings. Family and friends are welcome to tune in!

Graduating engineering students planning to participate in Ring Ceremony should click on the link below and select the following tickets:

The registration fee will cover the supplies and mailing costs for your program, certificate and ring.

Ring Ceremony Registration

You have the opportunity to purchase a Jacobs School of Engineering stole through the order form below. A stole costs $18, which includes the price for the stole ($10) and shipping fee ($8). If you are participating in Ring Ceremony and purchasing a stole, you are not required to pay the shipping fee, as this cost is already covered by your registration fee.

Students who are NOT planning to participate in Ring Ceremony can also purchase a ring using the order form below. A ring costs $28, which includes the price for the ring ($20) and shipping fee ($8).

Note that if you purchase a stole AND a ring, the total cost will be $38, which includes the price for the stole ($10), the ring ($20) and shipping fee ($8).

Are you interested in being the distinguished student speaker for Ring Ceremony 2020? This is an exceptional opportunity for an engineering student graduating with their undergraduate degree to share their college journey with the graduating class and their guests. The allotted time for the speech is 5 minutes, and the deadline to apply is May 10, 2020. We will then review applications and invite candidates to present their proposed speech, before selecting the student speaker.

  • How much does it cost to register for the Ring Ceremony?

    1. Registration to attend the Ring Ceremony is $30. This includes:
    2. Ring Ceremony Registration ($10), AND
    3. Ring Purchase ($20)

  • How do I purchase a Jacobs School of Engineering stole?

    You may purchase a Jacobs School of Engineering stole through the Registration Form provided above. A stole costs $18, which includes the price for the stole ($10) and shipping fee ($8).

    • Notes:
    • If you purchase a stole AND a ring, the total cost will be $38, which includes the price for the stole ($10), the ring ($20) and shipping fee ($8).

  • Do I need to pay for shipping?

    If you are purchasing a Jacobs School of Engineering stole and/or ring, you must pay for the shipping fee of $8.

    Students registering for Ring Ceremony are not required to pay the shipping fee, since this cost is already covered by their registration fee.

  • I do not plan to participate in the Ring Ceremony, but would like to purchase a ring.

    Students who are not planning to participate in the Ring Ceremony can purchase a ring using the Registration Form above. A ring costs $28, which includes the price for the ring ($20) and shipping fee ($8).

    • Graduating engineering students planning to participate in Ring Ceremony must complete the Ring Ceremony Registration form AND purchase a ring. Students registering for Ring Ceremony are not required to pay the shipping fee, since this cost is already covered by their registration fee.
  • What will the ring look like?

  • When will I get my stole?

    Stoles will be mailed to students starting mid May. You will receive an email when stoles are ready to be mailed.

  • When do I get my Ring?

    If you signed up for the Ring Ceremony, your ring, certificate and event program will be mailed to you before the event.

    If you purchased a ring and you do not plan to participate in the Ring Ceremony, your ring will be mailed to you after the event.

  • What if I need to change my ring size and have already submitted my registration form?

    If you would like to change the information you provided in the registration form, including ring size, number of guests, etc, please login to the Registration Form by Sunday, May 24th to make this change.

  • I completed the form stating I do not want to participate in the Ring Ceremony, but now I do! Can I still participate?

    If you completed the form stating you only want to purchase a ring and/or stole, and you would now like to attend the Ring Ceremony event, please login to the Registration Form to select Ring Ceremony Registration to register for this event

  • What if I no longer want to participate in Ring Ceremony?

    If you no longer plan to participate in Ring Ceremony after you’ve registered for this event, please login to the Registration Form by Sunday, May 24th to note this change.

  • I registered for Ring Ceremony and/or purchased a ring/stole but no longer want it. Can I receive a refund?

    Refunds will not be provided for any payment made.

  • Can I bring guests?

    Family and friends are welcome to tune in!
