Alumni Giving Creates Support for Graduate Students

Having met as students in the Department of Structural Engineering, Kevin and Nganha are committed to ensuring students have the experience they themselves fondly look back on. This commitment has taken the form of a $25,000 pledge to establish the Endowed Graduate Student Prize in Structural Engineering. This new fund will provide annual prizes to be awarded to top-level graduate students in
the department.

There are myriad ways for alumni to empower current and future Tritons. Alumni couple Kevin L. Napolitano ’89 and Nganha D. Vu, MS ’98 have volunteered their time and talents as members of the Department of Structural Engineering’s Industry Advisory Board and are pursuing philanthropy to invest in the success of Structural Engineering graduate students.

Graduate student prizes support exceptional students who aspire to positively influence the world with their Jacobs School education. Thanks to Kevin and Nganha’s generosity, a selection of top-level structural engineering students will receive support through financial awards and recognition. Additional support for this fund, as well as other endowed graduate student prizes, will benefit both the individual recipients and the Jacobs School as a whole.
