People

Audrey is a 3rd year Bioengineering undergrad minoring in Design.  Her favorite part of the maker studio is the lounge and she writes 90% of the newsletters. She's constantly on the hunt for the best boba in town, and when she's not doing that, she's taking a lot of naps. Her favorite things that she's made in the space are the paper shadow boxes and at one point she was an accomplice in accidentally breaking the TV in the space but we don't talk about it.

Carl is a 2nd year Electrical Engineering undergrad minoring in Vis Arts. He started out working as a volunteer his Freshman year and was officially put on the team his Sophomore year. The sound of mariachi music and anime instrumentals can be heard all throughout the space when he’s on shift. Most of his projects are in some form or another related to anime, memes, or pop culture. He is the owner of the Kirby in the lobby: “don’t talk to me and my son ever again”.

Desi is a fourth year, in Mechanical Engineering, who joined EnVision early in her undergrad, eventually joining the student staff team. She takes great joy in hands on crafts and DIY projects, where currently she is focused on fashion and her sewing skills. 

Janet is a fourth year, as well as one of the longest members of the EnVision student staff team. With her leadership and interpersonal skills, she hopes to help a great number of students within the space achieve their best, while engaging them through the process.

Karen is currently in her third year, studying Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Speculative Design. Karen joined the student staff team after working with EnVision through the Summer EnVision Experience (SEE) in 2019. Through this work, Karen hopes to inspire other people to combine their interests in the arts and engineering fields to create interesting projects. One of their main strengths is somehow using every tool in the space to make stuffed animals.

Samm is a 5th year Cognitive Science major, specializing in Design and Interaction, and minoring in Engineering Mechanics. In 2017 Samm took part in EnVision’s Summer Engineering Experience (SEE) internship program with Birch Aquarium, and had since then volunteered for the maker space until becoming a member of EnVision’s student staff team in 2018. He is passionate in learning more about other engineering disciplines from the students that he interacts and converses with throughout the studio. Samm can be a bit of a clean freak, but he would always have enough time to assist the students around him without hesitation.
