Electronic materials Science and Technology
Professor Lau engages in research in the field of electronic materials science and technology. He has contributed to the areas of processing technology and understanding of electronic and optical devices, ion beam and thin film phenomena, hetero-materials integrations, and more recently in flexible electronics.
Capsule Bio:
S.S. Lau came to UCSD in 1980 after working at AT&T Bell Laboratories and Caltech. A fellow of the American Physical Society, Lau was a Fulbright scholar. He was the founding editor of Materials Science and Engineering Reports. He received all of his engineering degrees from UC Berkeley, with a Ph.D. in Engineering Science in 1969.
