Marko Lubarda is dedicated to engineering pedagogy and enriching students' learning experiences through curriculum design, teaching innovations, and support of undergraduate student research. His teaching and research activities are in the areas of mechanics, materials science, computational methods, engineering mathematics, and magnetic nanotechnologies. Lubarda has recently co-authored the undergraduate textbook Intermediate Solid Mechanics (Cambridge University Press, 2020).

 

Capsule Bio:

Marko Lubarda obtained his Ph.D. in 2012 in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California San Diego. From 2013-2019, he was an Assistant Professor of Polytechnics at the University of Donja Gorica in Montenegro. He was a visiting scholar at the Center for Memory and Recording Research (CMRR) at UC San Diego (2013, 2014), a visiting lecturer in the MAE and SE Departments of UC San Diego from 2014-2020, and an invited assistant professor at the Institute Jean Lamour at the University of Lorraine in France (2014, 2019). He joined the MAE Department of the Jacobs School of Engineering at UC San Diego as an Assistant Teaching Professor in July 2020.
