Southern California Healthcare Technology Acceleration Program Statement of Intent Deadline April 29, 2011

San Diego, CA, April 18, 2011 -- Southern California researchers working on innovations to reduce the cost of healthcare are invited to submit their inventions to the Southern California Healthcare Technology Acceleration Program for potential awards of up to $100,000 to help determine the commercial feasibility of their technologies.  Through the Southern California Healthcare Technology Acceleration Program, award recipients will receive financial support to conduct proof of concept studies, technology development, and preliminary market research.

The von Liebig Center for Entrepreneurism and Technology Advancement at the University of California San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering, in partnership with the California HealthCare Foundation , the Pioneer Portfolio of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Booz Allen Hamilton, and the Rady School of Management at the University of California San Diego announce a call for entries for the Southern California Healthcare Technology Acceleration Program.  

This initiative is intended to nurture and accelerate the commercialization of novel healthcare technologies that can significantly lower the cost of health care delivery in California and are developed by faculty and graduate student researchers within research institutes and universities in Southern California.

Winning teams will receive mentoring assistance from the UC San Diego von Liebig Entrepreneurism Center’s technology and business advisors to help them advance their technologies toward commercialization.
