The frontier of wearable sensors discussed at summit

Ph.D. student Juliane Sempionatto won the presentation competition at the Center for Wearable Sensors Summit for her poster "Stretchable Textile-Based Enzymatic Biofuel Cells and Self-Powered Sensors."

San Diego, Calif., April 28, 2016 -- Scores of industry leaders and researchers turned out for the Center for Wearable Sensors Summit that took place at the University of California San Diego on April 14. 

Participants head two talks from two faculty in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Jacobs School of Engineering at UC San Diego. Tina Ng spoke on "Printing large-area flexible electronics." Shadi Dayeh spoke on "The curved body, the beating brain."

The summit also included a poster presentation session and competition. Juliane Sempionatto won the contest for her poster "Stretchable Textile-Based Enzymatic Biofuel Cells and Self-Powered Sensors." She is a Ph.D. student in the research group of Nanoengineering Professor Joseph Wang. Read the abstract for her poster here.
