Alumni battery startup raises $1.25M

San Diego, CA, Oct. 17, 2020--Ateios, a startup founded by Jacobs School of Engineering alumni Rajan Kumar and Carlos Munoz, raised $1.25 million in seed funding.  Ateios has developed a flexible, paper-thin, customizable battery, and is reshaping battery manufacturing with their technique for thin-film batteries. The company spun out from Kumar and Munoz' research into stretchable batteries here at the Jacobs School of Engineering, and was part of the Institute for the Global Entrepreneur.
