Joint Symposium: UC San Diego and National Yang Ming University
The symposium this year will focus on Brain and Neuroscience, Stem Cells, Cell and Tissue Engineering, Viral and Cellular Membrane Proteins, and Genomics and Cancer. There will be 24 presentations, with 12 from each university. The topics have been matched to foster interactions and cross-fertilizations.
The speakers from UCSD include faculty members in Departments of Biology, Bioengineering, Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Medicine, NanoEngineering, Neuroscience, Ophthalmology, and Psychiatry, as well as those with appointments in the Moores Cancer Center, La Jolla Institute of Allergy and Immunology, San Diego Stem Cell Consortium, and the VA Hospital. The meeting is organized by the UCSD Engineering in Medicine Initiative, the Department of Bioengineering, and the Whitaker Institute of Biomedical Engineering at UC San Diego.
The Symposium to be held in the Fung Auditorium on the first floor of the Powell-Focht Bioengineering Hall, will start at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 9. The event concludes at noon Friday, April 11. Because of seating limitations, pre-register is suggested.
