Jacobs School Leadership Affirms Principles of Community

San Diego, CA, February 22, 2010 --On behalf of the UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering, we reaffirm our commitment to the UCSD Principles of Community, which states:

“We reject acts of discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion, and political beliefs, and, we will confront and appropriately respond to such acts.”

We are deeply saddened by the recent unfortunate events which so blatantly violated those principles, and we wholly support the campus leadership in its response.  We invite Jacobs School faculty, students and staff to review the UCSD Principles of Community and to visit the “Battle Against Hate” website to learn more about what you can do.
