Michael R. Davidson
Asst Professor, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
Optimization, power systems planning and operation, renewable resources assessment, infrastructure policy
Davidson studies the engineering implications and institutional conflicts inherent in deploying low-carbon energy at scale. His work combines power systems optimization, renewable resources assessment, and methods from the social sciences to create feasible pathways for infrastructure transititions.
School of Global Policy & Strategy
Davidson served as a postdoctoral research fellow athe Harvard Kennedy School before joining UC San Diego in 2019. He earned a Ph.D. from MIT. In addition to the Jacobs School, he holds an appointment at the School of Global Policy and Strategy at UC San Diego.
