Daniel Grier
Assistant Professor, Computer Science & Engineering
Quantum complexity theory
Grier's research is in quantum complexity theory. He is particularly interested in near-term quantum computing paradigms and proving that they exhibit an advantage over their classical counterparts. Joint hire with the Department of Mathematics.
Capsule Bio:
Before joining UC San Diego in 2022, Grier was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Waterloo. He earned his Ph.D. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
