Samuel R. Buss

Professor, Computer Science & Engineering


Bounded arithmetic, proof theory and complexity, mathematical logic and behavioral logic.

Professor Buss teaches courses including Mathematical Logic, Computer Graphics, and Propositional Proof Complexity. His book on "3D Computer Graphics: A Mathematical Introduction with OpenGL," was published in 2003 by Cambridge University Press.

Capsule Bio:

Samuel Buss is also a Professor of Mathematics at UC San Diego. He is the author of the book "Bounded Arithmetic" (Bibliopolis, 1986), based on his doctoral thesis. He received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Princeton University in 1985. Buss did his undergraduate work at Emory University.
