1. Applied Innovation in the Office of the CTO- TIP - ALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED Do What's Next – This is not your father’s Autodesk! Today we have robots in our offices and more 3D printers than we can count. Thirty years ago when Autodesk started, it was about one user running CAD software on one PC. A lot has changed since then. Now our mission is about the entire product lifecycle (IMAGINE, DESIGN, CREATE) with teams of people using cloud-based computing on mobile devices and collaboration around tools patterned after social media. How would you like to be part of stretching the limits of what can be done today? Be part of imaging what to build. Actually create the design using cloud-based software. Get your hands dirty and actually fabricate the design in a shop. Work in a small team of 4 interns in the Office of the CTO and complete a group project. Share your perspective with the Autodesk CEO and CTO on how effective our design tools and collaboration environment are. Does this sound like you? Sounds Unbelievable? Check out some of the work from last year’s interns: Autodesk Fusion 360 Interns: How I Spent my Summer Vacation at Pier 9. Don’t take my word for it. Here’s what former intern now employee, Heather Kerrick, had to say: “I think a rare aspect of the internship was the amount of license we had over what we made, and the fact that we got to learn more fabrication techniques. I think those are a big opportunity for design students who are often afraid of being relegated to either implement someone else's vision, or their idea never going beyond a sketch/concept/PowerPoint slide.” Be Part of the Transformation to Cloud/Mobile/Social Learn Autodesk Fusion 360 using online training materials and collaboration with your peers Collaborate with other interns using Autodesk Fusion 360 Design something that stretches the limits of what Autodesk Fusion 360 can do Fabricate the design using machines (3D printers, laser cutters, wood and metal milling machines) available at Autodesk’s Pier 9 shop Compose and present a summary of the overall experience with suggestions for improvements to Autodesk Fusion 360 Who’s a Fit Full-time student pursuing a bachelors or masters engineering or design degree at an accredited program in the United States with at least one academic term to complete post internship to be eligible for internship participation Experience with 3D design and geometric modeling Hands-on experience with digital fabrication Scripting experience with Autodesk Fusion 360 is a real plus Though a self-starter and self-managing, have a strong desire to work as part of a team
